Ogun reports 11 road crashes during Easter, resulting in 4 deaths and 40 injuries

The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that a total of four individuals lost their lives, while 40 others sustained injuries in a total of 11 road accidents that occurred during the Easter festivities in the state.

During a press briefing held in Ota, the State Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, disclosed these statistics at the conclusion of a 4-day Special Patrol operation that was specifically organized for the Easter celebrations.

Uga highlighted that the FRSC’s strategic deployment of both Regular and Special Marshals played a crucial role in minimizing the number of accidents during the Easter period, which spanned from March 29 to April 2.

The commander emphasized that the increased presence of FRSC personnel enabled them to effectively monitor and address the reckless behaviors of drivers who often disregarded traffic laws, leading to unfortunate road crashes.

In his address, Uga urged motorists to consistently adhere to traffic regulations not only during festive seasons but also throughout the year to ensure road safety for all road users.

Furthermore, he reiterated the FRSC’s unwavering dedication to collaborating with other relevant agencies to enhance the safety of the nation’s highways and protect the welfare of the general public.
