Ogun Govt to Distribute N10m Grant to Empower Youths
Ogun State reveals plans to distribute a N10m grant to support and empower its youth population.
The Ogun State government intends to provide financial support, in the form of grants ranging from N500,000 up to N10,000,000 and interest-free digital loans.
This will be facilitated through its Ogun Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Programme specifically for young entrepreneurs who are focused on business development initiatives.
The aim is to equip them with necessary funding resources that would enable expansion opportunities for their respective businesses.
During the Remo International Youth Day, which had the theme of “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, Dapo Abiodun – the state’s governor – revealed this information.
The event was held at Christ Apostolic Grammar School in Iperu-Remo, located within Ikenne Local Government Area.
According to Abiodun, a greater number of young individuals will participate in digital training ventures, whilst additional ones receive technical and vocational coaching suitable for cultivating mastery in diverse domains.

The governor announced that Ogun would be joining other states in harvesting rice which was planted three months earlier, and also promised to initiate the Ogun Youth Agricultural programme. This program will be spread throughout the state by taking advantage of the Soilless Farm Laboratory located at Awowo, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
“The Ogun State youth empowerment and entrepreneurial scheme, which will be launching in the next two weeks, has several objectives,” he stated. “It is a program specifically designed for our youths in Ogun State.”
“Our goal is to recognize young men and women who possess an entrepreneurial spirit, either through experience or innate ability. Through a careful selection process, we plan on awarding numerous grants in order to provide these individuals with necessary support for their current or future business ventures.”
In the upcoming weeks, we will be revealing our plans to offer grants ranging from N500,000 to N10 million that will enable individuals to expand their businesses and foster cash flow. Additionally, some may also have access to digital loans sans interest.
Additionally, we will provide instruction to individuals with an aptitude for technology through Digital Training Enterprises. This program is designed to enhance digital proficiency and cultivate social media marketing abilities in aspiring influencers.
Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, the Commissioner for Sports Development also spoke and acknowledged that the purpose of this event was to have a positive influence on Remoland’s youth population, as well as the state overall.
He expressed his gratitude towards the Remo Growth and Development Foundation for arranging such an initiative.
Isiaka praised several youth groups in the state for opting to engage in dialogue instead of protest, recognizing that the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun will persistently support and enable young individuals.
The Onirolu of Irolu, Oba Sikiru Adeyiga conveyed the message of Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi.
