One of the ten nominees for commissioner that Governor Dapo Abiodun recently sent to the Ogun State House of Assembly has had his nomination withdrawn: Tunde Osunbiyi.

When it approved the final nine nominations, the Ogun State House of Assembly revealed this.

Mr. Osunbiyi, who is a native of Ipokia Local Government, withdrew without explanation.

The adoption of the report of the Committee of the Whole House, presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, was followed by the approval of the nine more nominations.

The proposal to adopt the report was also made by the deputy speaker, Bolanle Ajayi.

The Speaker presided over a plenary at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, where the nominees were confirmed by a voice vote.

The report states that because four of the nine applicants had previously gone through the same procedure, the Committee determined that they were qualified to be appointed as Ogun State commissioners.

As of right now, the Assembly has examined and confirmed 17 of Gov. Abiodun’s nominations, according to DAILY POST.

The governor must administer their oath of office before the commissioner-designates can take the oath.
