According to Defence Headquarters, military personnel have captured 124 terrorists nationwide and freed 53 hostages who had been kidnapped in the past week.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the director of defence media operations, announced this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
According to Buba, those detained included 19 people for oil heist in the Niger Delta and 95 suspected terrorists and their allies.
He added that the forces also discovered 1,207 different rounds of ammo and 100 different weapons.
He claimed that among them were 45 AK-47 firearms, 11 locally made AK-47 rifles, six pump action rifles, 12 dane rifles, and two AK-47 rifles each holding 34 rounds of unique 7.62mm ammunition.
He also said that there were two locally built firearms, two locally constructed pistols, two locally constructed revolvers, 925 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 28 rounds of 9mm ammo, 157 live bullets, and 23 magazines.
Buba continued by saying that the offenders had also turned up 38 mobile phones, 25 motorcycles, and 27 other cars.
He said that during various operations throughout the theatre, forces of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East neutralised 20 terrorists, detained 57 others, and freed 16 captives who had been taken hostage.
In addition, he said, the forces found eight motorcycles, four mobile phones, two bicycles, 203 rounds of special 7.62mm ammo, 13 AK-47 rifles, five dane guns, four magazines, two made-up firearms, medical supplies, and various food items.
He said that Bulama Bukar, a Boko Haram terrorist, turned himself in to the military on October 17 in the Borno locality of Gubio.
Buba reported that during several operations, the soldiers of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in the North Central region neutralised three terrorists, detained 53 others, and freed 16 captives who had been taken hostage.
He added that in addition, the troops found three AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines that were each holding 34 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, two fake AK-47 rifles, 34 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 28 rounds of 9mm ammo, and 37 live cartridges.
The defence official added: “Also recovered are 12 empty cartridges, 4 magazines, 2 motorcycles, 2 mobile phones, 1 boafeng radio and charger, and the sum of N451,360.”
He added that Operation Whirl Stroke forces detained six people, neutralised two terrorists, and freed 13 hostages.
Buba added that in addition to the N114,500, the troops also found three cellphones, eight packets of what appeared to be cannabis, one Danish rifle, and N114,500.
According to the defence spokesman, Operation Hadarin Daji forces in the North West carried out raid operations in Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, where they neutralised 17 terrorists, detained 10, and freed 19 captives.

He claimed that the soldiers also found 17 motorcycles, 158 rounds of special 7.62mm ammo, seven burned magazines, several burned AK47 weapons, and four recovered AK47 rifles.
He claimed that Operation Whirl Punch forces killed 10 terrorists, detained 31 others, and freed 10 hostages who had been taken prisoner.
He revealed that the soldiers had also detained a terrorist accomplice in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area.
Buba reported that items recovered included 20 arrows, one amulet jacket, nine locally produced firearms, 17 dane guns, three locally made pistols, seven magazines, 211 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, four cartridges, two motorcycles, one HH radio, five mobile phones, and N50,000.
He claimed that the Operation Safe Haven troops in the South-South had detained 19 oil thieves who had stolen N3.3 billion in oil during that time.
According to Buba, the military also found and demolished 82 boats, 143 storage tanks, 234 cooking ovens, 61 pipes, 17 drums, one pumping equipment, two outboard engines, and 56 illicit refining facilities.
He continued by saying that during that time, the military also found 6.01 million gallons of stolen crude, 425,715 litres of AGO that had been unlawfully refined, 38,100 litres of DPK, and 4,500 litres of PMS.
According to Buba, during searches on IPOB/ESN hideouts in the South East, Operation UDO KA forces neutralised four terrorists, detained 21 criminals, and freed one prisoner who had been taken hostage.
He claimed the military also found two motorcycles, one HH radio, four mobile phones, ten generator sets, four freezers, six pump action rifles, 48 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 113 live cartridges, six pump action pistols, one HH radio, ten mobile phone batteries, and 33,000 gallons of illegally processed AGO.
“All found items, detained suspects, and freed hostages were given to the appropriate authority for follow-up action.
“The military is fighting valiantly and triumphing in this conflict. Several terrorist and insurgent commanders, as well as their enablers and important associates, have been killed or detained as a result of our operations.
As a result, the terrorists and insurgents are continually burying their victims and will continue to do so.
He claimed that because these groups are no longer able to hide, “our communities across the nation have risen to the occasion in exposing these elements and it is having a tremendous impact on operations.” (NAN
