Professor Bernard Odoh, an APGA Chieftain in Ebonyi State, expressed deep sorrow regarding the passing of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Governor of old Abia State and Minister of Science and Technology.
In a statement, Odoh highlighted the significant loss that the former Minister’s death represents for Uburu Community, Ebonyi State, and the entire nation of Nigeria.
He emphasized that Nigeria has lost a remarkable and astute politician who made positive contributions to politics and governance since the Second Republic.
Born in 1951 in Amenu, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Dr. Onu’s impact on Nigerian politics was profound and enduring.
Over the span of more than three decades, Dr. Onu remained consistent in his opposition politics, eventually playing a pivotal role in the merger that led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014.
