Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has ordered the state police command to look into the alleged horrific murder of a school teacher, Mr. Sunday Ufua, by a parent and prosecute those responsible.

Ufua worked as a teacher at the Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, of the state, till his tragic demise.

It was said that the deceased had corrected a misbehaving child.

“As a state government, we frown seriously at parents going to bully teachers for genuinely enforcing disciplinary measures against students for bad behaviour, as is alleged in the extant case,” Oborevwori wrote in a message of condolences signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Festus Ahon.

“I have instructed the State Police Command to thoroughly examine the case and prosecute the offenders.

“I express my condolences to the Ufua family and teachers throughout the state on the terrible and untimely passing of their father and colleague on behalf of the Delta government and people.

We will never allow such behaviour in our schools, as a state.

He claimed that the actions that resulted in Ufua’s death were both wrong and preventable.
