Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State recently visited the town of Okuama to address the issue of innocent citizens suffering due to a crisis they had no involvement in.
Accompanied by Commander 63 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Unachukwu Ugochukwu, and other government officials, the governor assured the safe return of the indigenes who had fled the community following the killing of 17 officers and soldiers on March 14.
Speaking to journalists, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that due process had been followed in handling the incident, with the bodies of the victims already buried and the detained king released.

He expressed his commitment to peace and security in Delta State and reiterated President Buhari’s promise that no innocent person would be victimized.
The governor also highlighted the cooperation between the military and his administration in reintegrating the innocent people of Okuama back into their community.
