In Anambra State, “my presidential candidate performed extremely well because he reined down the expense of administration,” Otti remarked.

Alex Otti, the newly-elected governor of Anambra State, has stated he will follow the model of leadership used by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), while he served as governor from 2006 to 2014.

“My presidential candidate performed extremely well in Anambra State because he reined down the expense of administration,” Otti stated during a live appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday.

“And we’re going to operate the same sort of model in Abia,” she added. In the public sector, there are limits to how many employees you may add.

Appointing 12,000 personal assistants and special assistants who “essentially don’t have an office,” according to Otti, who was proclaimed the winner on Wednesday, poses a challenge for the person in charge.

On the need to restock the state’s coffers, he urged individuals who had accumulated public funds to give it back, claiming that it would be futile to use the time and resources necessary to track out looters.

“I am aware that Abia has a lot of work to do, and I don’t want any distractions,” the speaker said. I’ve been there long enough to understand that as soon as an inquiry gets underway, you start to become sidetracked, the incoming governor remarked.

He said that “the process now begins” after an investigation is complete and a report has been produced that would have resulted in the indictment of several individuals.

The High Court, the Court of Appeal, and finally the Supreme Court, he claimed, would all be involved in that process.

If you took any cash and it’s still on your person, please return it. The truth is that I’m not going to waste time pursuing true or fictitious thieves or looters, but I will not tolerate corruption, Otti declared.

I won’t permit the sharing of our funds. We should put our money to work for our people, in my opinion.
