Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected the application made by former Anambra State Governor, Willie Maduabuchi Obiano, to dismiss the N40 billion money laundering charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
In his ruling on Thursday, the Judge dismissed all the grounds presented by Obiano in his application.
Obiano had argued that there was no connection between the evidence provided by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the accusations against him.

He also claimed that there was no testimony from any witness indicating his involvement in the disbursement of funds belonging to the Anambra State Government.
Additionally, Obiano argued that he could not be held accountable for the actions of officials in the state government.
His motion was based on specific sections of the constitution and the Administration of the Criminal Justice Act 2015.
