The Labour Party, or LP, has claimed that the Supreme Court did not rule on the appeal that its nominee for president, Peter Obi, submitted.
The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, filed an appeal, and the supreme court only read its ruling on that appeal, according to a statement released by the party on Tuesday through its national secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim.
OBASANJONEWS24 reminds readers that on October 26, the Supreme Court denied petitions from the PDP and LP that sought to overturn President Bola Tinubu’s election by the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.
However, the LP said in a statement on Tuesday that the judge “verbally stated that the decision in the LP appeal would abide by the judgement just delivered in respect of the PDP appeal” after His Lordship John Inyang Okoro JSC read the ruling on the PDP’s appeal.

The party called the development intolerable and unprecedented.
“The Supreme Court’s refusal to give a judgement and to provide our party with a copy of its verdict, even after hearing our party’s appeal, is extremely disheartening and embarrassing for the LP.
“The LP is obligated to say that the Supreme Court’s actions are unacceptable and unheard of.
The statement went on, “This is an outright violation of LP’s and her candidate’s constitutional right to a fair hearing.”
