There are signs that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) present internal conflicts that may not end very soon.
This comes after Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike invited Labour Party, LP presidential candidate Peter Obi to commission one of the state projects his government had completed.
Dr Yunusa Tanko, a spokesman for the Obi/Datti presidential team, made the news.
Inviting opposition party members, particularly those from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to commission projects in his State is nothing new for Governor Wike, as you might recall.
An action that has not been favourably received by the PDP.
The governor had reportedly defected to the ruling APC and was prepared to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC’s candidacy when he invited Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State and an APC member, to commission a flyover project at the well-known Waterlines junction on Aba road in August of this year.
Wike, who is currently in charge of the G5 governors and is joined by Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, recently suggested that after months of disagreement, his group may be moving toward reconciliation with Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.
