In Edo State, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president in this coming Saturday’s election, has been proclaimed victorious.
Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, the vice chancellor of the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom and the state collation officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission, said that Obi received 331,163 votes in total to win the state.
Bola Tinubu, a candidate for the All Progressive Congress, finished second with a score of 144,471; Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, had 89,585; Rabiu Kwakwanso, a candidate for the NNPP, had a score of 2,743; and the ZLP had a score of 4082.

In the state, only 2,501,081 voters were registered for the election, while 603, 894 votes were accredited. Also, a total of 600 395 votes were cast, with 581 266 legitimate votes, 19,129 invalid votes, and 19,129 invalid votes.
In 12 Local Government Areas (LGAs), the LP won the presidential election: Igueben, Esan Central, Esan North-East, Egor, Esan South-East, Esan West, Uhunmwonde, Orhionmwon, Ovia South-West, Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, and Ovia North-East. In six LGAs, Owan West, Owan East, Akoko-Edo, Ets
Agents from the 18 participating political parties, including the LP, PDP, and APC, signed the results after collation.
