The alleged attack on the president’s convoy on Monday in the Hotoro region of Kano has been surrounded by controversy.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy, which was reportedly stoned in Kano State, has been denounced by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
The move, in the opinion of Obi and his party, is “barbaric and un-Nigerian,” and they strongly condemn it.
LP Presidential Campaign Council Head of Media Diran Onifade stated in a statement on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari, in particular given his age, is a father figure, an assault on whom our culture views as sacrilegious. The president represents the sovereignty of the Nigerian nation.

The alleged attack on the president’s convoy on Monday in the Hotoro region of Kano has been surrounded by controversy.
Even though the story has gone viral, Bayo Onanuga, a spokesperson for the APC presidential campaign committee, called the attack “imaginary.”
The Labour Party “sympathised” with the President in a statement released on Tuesday, and it urged law enforcement agencies to step up to the plate by properly investigating and prosecuting these violent offenders and their instigators.
“We implore our supporters and the good people of Nigeria to remain steadfast and determined in expressing their electoral preferences and taking part in this process, but never to lose their composure and discretion,” the statement continued. “Our future depends on a peaceful and stable polity,” it said.
