On Wednesday, former president Olusegun Obasanjo paid a visit to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, a former governor of Ogun State.
Obasanjo paid Amosun a visit at the former governor’s Ibara GRA home in the Ogun State capital of Abeokuta.
The visit will take place precisely one month before the presidential election on February 25, 2023.
Despite the claim that the visit was to wish Amosun a happy 65th birthday, there are rumours that the two leaders may be planning something ahead of the 2023 elections.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, Bola Tinubu, was scheduled to campaign in Ogun on the day of Obasanjo‘s visit, which was also the former president’s first to Amosun on his birthday.
Obasanjo visited Amosun to wish him a happy 65th birthday, according to a statement by his media assistant Kehinde Akinyemi.
Akinyemi claims that Obasanjo visited Amosun’s home at around seven in the morning to offer prayers for the celebrant, his wife, and his household.
According to Obasanjonews24, Obasanjo is endorsing Labour Party nominee Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential race.
Despite missing the APC gathering in Abeokuta on Wednesday, Amosun, an APC member, has sworn to support Tinubu’s bid for the presidency.
