Obasanjo, Shettima, Atiku Grace Kwankwaso Daughter’s Wedding in Kano

Former President Obasanjo, VP Shettima, and Atiku join other dignitaries to celebrate the wedding of Kwankwaso’s daughter in Kano. 

On Saturday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the Wedding Fatiha of Rabiu Kwankwaso’s daughter. Rabiu Kwankwaso is the National leader of the Kwankwasiyya political movement and a former Governor of Kano State.

At the event, Kwankwaso gave his daughter Dr. Aishatu Kwankwaso’s hand in marriage to Fahad, son of Dahiru Mangal, a prominent businessman from Katsina.

The event was also attended by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zahraddeen, officiated the wedding fatiha held at the Palace of the Emir of Kano.

The groom paid a dowry of N1 million amidst fervent prayers to Allah (SWT).

The ceremony nearly brought Kano to a halt as dignitaries from across the country attended.

The wedding was also attended by prominent figures including Ahmed Makarfi, the former governor of Kaduna State; Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State; Senator Abdul Ningi; and Senator Adamu Aliero, who is a past governor of Kebbi State.

The remaining individuals were former Governor Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State, Mahamud Shinkafi, who previously governed Zamfara State, Isah Yuguda from Bauchi State’s governorship, Victor Attah who served as the governor of Akwa Ibom State, and Chief Achike Udenwa who was once the Governor of Imo State.

In attendance at the event were former Senator Dino Melaye and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, who was the Chief Security Officer for the late former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.

A noteworthy moment at the event was when former President Obasanjo arrived wearing a red cap, symbolizing the Kwankwasiyya political movement headed by Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Since the start of the Fourth Republic, Kwankwaso has been recognized as a political protégé of Chief Obasanjo.
