The Labour Party’s Peter Obi is still the front-runner for a better Nigeria, according to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who is running for president in the election on February 25.
The All Progressives Congress candidate at the time, Bola Tinubu, who is currently president, was proclaimed the election’s victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
Following the announcement, the opposition parties’ and their candidates’ legal actions, including those of LP and Obi, aimed at contesting the methodology used to select Tinubu as the winner.
Former president Obasanjo insisted that even though President Tinubu was officially declared the winner of the most recent election, Obi was still the person the nation needed to have as its leader in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
The best candidate, in his opinion, is still Peter Obi for the Nigeria that we currently need, he declared.
In response to the question of what he saw as his greatest accomplishment, the former president responded, “That I came here [earth] and God was immeasurably kind to me and showed His grace on me.”
