Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is angry about a rumor that Peter Obi will win the presidential election in 2023.

In a lengthy letter to Nigerians dated January 1st, the former head of state endorsed the Labour Party (LPcandidate )’s to lead the party.

“My dear young people, you need to band together and make a real, lasting change in your life.

He said, “If you fail to rehabilitate yourself and your country, you will have missed the chance and will only be held accountable by posterity, who will not pardon you.”

Both the ruling party and the opposition were shocked by the public announcement, which was seen as a big boost for Obi’s ambitions.

Since then, Obasanjo has been accused of taking bribes in some publications and social media posts.

One of his assistants, who asked to remain anonymous when talking to DAILY POST, denied the claim.

He questioned why a man who served as both a military and civilian leader of the nation would sell his morality.

“I’m not allowed to talk in front of the public, but I can assure you that all of this is false information.

How much money is required to purchase a person like Obasanjo? Since when has being one’s self a problem?

When told of the accusation, the retired general reportedly moaned, according to the assistant.

He’s been getting calls from some VIPs about it. Baba brought up the subject because he was so furious.

“We researched and found that it was only one or two alternative news websites.

He continued, “We advised him to disregard it since this is an election year and people will say stuff.”

According to information that DAILY POST got, a counter may be made if Obasanjo continues to worry about the rumors.

Former Anambra governor Obi is running in what is generally thought of as a four-man race to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
