Iconic British band Oasis is set to reunite in 2025 for a highly anticipated tour, marking their first live performances together in 15 years.
After a feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher caused the British rock band Oasis to split 15 years ago, they have confirmed their reunion for an upcoming tour. The shows are set to include a series of live performances.
Oasis declared on Tuesday that the tour details were finally out, following days of anticipation about their reunion. “Come witness it for yourself; it won’t be televised,” they stated as the guns ceased firing and stars aligned.
The band famous for hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” announced that they plan to perform 14 concerts throughout the United Kingdom by the year 2025, with plans to expand globally afterward.
There are 14 gigs scheduled to be played in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
The 1990s Britpop era was marked by Oasis, who made a name for themselves with numerous chart-topping hits. However, the band dissolved in 2009 due to creative differences between frontman Liam and lead guitarist Noel – the latter stating that he couldn’t continue working alongside his brother any longer.
On July 4, 2025, the band will start their reunion at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and proceed to perform in six shows located in Heaton Park – their hometown of Manchester.
Afterward, Oasis is set to take the stage at Wembley Stadium in London on August 2 and 3, followed by Murrayfield Stadium located in Edinburgh – Scotland’s capital city- on August 8 and 9. The band will then continue their tour a week later with a performance scheduled at Croke Park situated in Dublin.
According to an online statement, this will be one of the biggest live events and hottest tickets of the decade as it is their only show in Europe next year. The statement also mentioned that ticket sales would commence on Saturday.
According to the announcement, there are plans in progress for live performances outside of Europe next year.
The band had a lengthy stint since its inception in 1991, until sibling rivalry escalated to a breaking point between Liam and Noel during the Rock en Seine festival in Paris of 2009, culminating with Liam smashing one of Noel’s guitars.
The brothers’ relationship had been unfriendly for a long time before the separation, with reports stating that they did not communicate after the 2009 event.
Next year’s reunion marks 30 years since Oasis released their critically and commercially acclaimed album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, featuring hit singles Don’t Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall.
Liam expressed his desire to reconcile with his brother in an interview with The Associated Press news agency back in 2019.
“He said that the main focus is on our brotherhood. Although he thinks I’m motivated by money to reunite the band, my primary aim was never financial gain – it was to explore new places and enjoy ourselves.”
