NYSC plans to reject polytechnic graduates without IT evidence from national service. Find out the details and how it affects graduates.
Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Coordinator for Lagos State, shared this update in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that took place on Saturday in Lagos.
According to Baderinwa, the NYSC has released a circular that enforces the policy. The aim is to prevent graduates from polytechnics and monotechnics skipping their one-year IT before taking up Higher National Diploma programs.
“Without completing this essential year of industrial training, they cannot gain admission,” she stated.

She emphasized that universities must ensure verification of completion before admitting students into HND courses.
The implementation of this directive will begin from the upcoming orientation camp, and failure to complete the IT program will result in disqualification for registration according to her statement.
Baderinwa stressed the importance of maintaining Nigeria’s educational system integrity through this policy. She stated that HND graduates hoping to join NYSC orientation camps must show evidence of completing IT before registration.
