The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme has continued to be a ray of hope for bringing Nigeria together fifty years after it was established.
This was said by Governor Uba Sani during the official swearing-in ceremony of corps members of the 2023 batch ‘C’ stream ‘ll’ Orientation course in Kaduna. Governor Sani was represented by his Special Adviser on Revenue Matters, Umar Waziri.
According to the governor, millions of young people have been exposed to the rich cultural diversity and customs of the various ethnic groups that make up Nigeria through the NYSC.

He exhorted the corps members to devote themselves to the advancement and development of the country with fresh zeal, conviction, and devotion.
Sani said that by doing this, their host communities would advance positively.
The corps members were commended by the governor for their valiant response to the call for national service to Nigeria as well as for successfully completing their varied academic endeavours.
While in Kaduna State and the country as a whole, he encouraged the Corps members to contribute both individually and collectively to the progress and development of the country.
Prior to this, Mr. Hassan Taura, the NYSC Coordinator for Kaduna, announced that 1,401 corps members—716 men and 685 women—had registered.
Taura expressed his optimism that the orientation programme in camp will be successful based on the corps members’ current level of commitment and dedication.
He clarified that the camp orientation exercise was an essential component of the NYSC programme designed to get them ready for the service year.
