Nwabali extends warm welcome to Okoye in Super Eagles

Stanley Nwabali asserts that there is no rivalry between Maduka Okoye and the Super Eagles and expresses his gratitude for his homecoming.

A star custodian for the Super Eagles, Nwabali made a name for himself at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Head coach Finidi George has called up Okoye to the squad following his standout rookie campaign at Serie A club Udinese.

With the former Watford shot-stopper back, the goalkeeping position will likely face increased competition.

But Nwabali asserted that he and Okoye are not at odds.

“There is no disagreement. Maduka ought to play if he can offer the nation what he is offering Udinese,” Nwabali told Lagos Talks.

It’s not like on the club side, where you speak about battling when you see a new signing. We want to see everyone pleased because this is the country we are playing for and we are representing this green white green.
