The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Zamfara State Command, recently thwarted an attack by bandits near the Federal College of Education, (Technical), located in Gusau, the state capital.
The commandant, Sani Mustapha, shared this information with the press in Gusau, urging his officers and men to redouble their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents.
Mustapha revealed that the corps received a distress call on Monday alerting them to the bandits’ intentions to strike a community close to the college in Gusau.

In response, a patrol team swiftly moved to the area in their operational vehicle, successfully repelling the attack and engaging the bandits in a confrontation that forced them to flee into the nearby forest.
Following the incident, the operatives maintained a presence in the vicinity, safeguarding the locals until the early hours of the morning, ensuring their protection even after the completion of Muslim prayers.
Mustapha expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Operations Department, Agro Ranger Unit, Rapid Response Squad, Gusau, and Damban Divisions of the corps, acknowledging their role in preventing the bandits from causing harm to innocent civilians.
