The arrest of five robbery suspects, who are purportedly skilled in targeting hotels and Point of Sale (PoS) operators in Calabar, has been announced by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The suspects, who ranged in age from 15 to 25, were taken into custody early on Wednesday morning after receiving an intelligence report, according to Mr. Charles Brown, the NSCDC Commandant in Cross River.

According to Brown, they were taken into custody at many locations with weapons, ammo, charms, and other potentially incriminating materials.
“They had just robbed a motel in Calabar South, and the CCTV installed there caught their faces.
They were also located using a phone that they took from the hotel. We have been following them for a while now, and we recently appended one of them this morning, who then led us to gather the other four.
The commandant declared, “As we speak, their leader is still at large, but we will get him.”
After the inquiry was over, he said, the suspects will be turned over to the police to face charges.
Brown asked the public to provide security authorities with pertinent information so they could combat crimes and criminalities, adding that security agencies will keep working together to make the state a hotbed for criminal activity.
