NPFL: Mbah Splashes N50m, Rewards on Victorious Rangers

NPFL: Mbah awards N50m and other rewards to the victorious Rangers team, celebrating their recent triumph in the league. 

The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, recently declared a substantial cash prize of N50 million for the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu following their victory in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

During a state banquet held at the Government House in Enugu, the governor expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian champions for bringing honor to Enugu state on both the African and global stages.

Governor Mbah emphasized the significance of the NPFL title brought by the Rangers International team, highlighting its role in uniting the people of Enugu State and elevating the state’s reputation nationally and internationally.

In addition to the monetary reward, the governor pledged to provide non-cash rewards to further integrate the team into the fabric of the state and ensure their legacy endures.

Nevertheless, remember that I have always emphasized to you that success does not tolerate complacency. Our trophy cabinet still has plenty of room for more achievements. Therefore, we must strive for more. I am confident that we are all preparing for the CAF Champions League and other upcoming tournaments.

Rest assured that we will continue to support you tirelessly. In fact, we are committed to intensifying and strengthening our support for you.

The commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Lloyd Ekweremadu, praised Rangers for their successful pursuit of the title and expressed gratitude to the governor for his personal and official support, which has transformed the club.

Additionally, the general manager and CEO of Rangers International, Amobi Ezeaku, expressed appreciation to Governor Mbah for taking Rangers under his wing as a special project.

Ezeaku also highlighted the club’s return to their home ground after playing away for two years, expressing gratitude for the governor’s support in easing their travel challenges, securing corporate sponsors, attending matches, and braving adverse weather conditions to witness the trophy lifting ceremony in Jos.

He also credited the governor for the recognition of the Rangers jersey at the FIFA museum in Zürich, Switzerland, and at the headquarters of African Football in the 6th of October City, Giza, Egypt. Furthermore, Ezeaku mentioned that Rangers have received multiple nominations in various categories for the league bloggers award.
