NPFL: Insurers hold off Akwa United in a four-goal thriller to defeat Enyimba and remain unblemished

Bendel Insurance defeated Enyimba 1-0 on Sunday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City to extend their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League to nine games.

The game-winning goal was scored in the 29th minute by Imade Osarenkhoe.

In nine league outings for the Benin Arsenals this year, Osarenkhoe has now netted six goals.

The insurance company increased its lead at the top of the leaderboard to seven points.

A exciting 2-2 match between Adamasingba, Ibadan, Shooting Stars, and Akwa United took place at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Around the 15-minute mark, Joshua Akpan gave 3SC the lead.

Five minutes later, Uche Collins of the visitors brought the score level.

Before letting loose with a low shot into the goal, Collins engaged the whole 3SC defence.

Around the 23rd minute of play, Liman Ahmadu scores the game’s first goal for Akwa United after Cyril Olisema’s fierce free kick hits the crossbar.

Ibrahim Ajani, a seasoned forward for 3SC, equalised late in the first half.
