An agreement has been reached between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) regarding the ultimate merit list for hiring police constables.
The Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed that following thorough discussions between the parties concerned, a recruitment process founded on transparency, impartiality and merit has been put in place.
Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police expressed his contentment with the result. He emphasized how this partnership demonstrates a dedication to Nigeria’s well-being and is assured that these new hires will play a vital role in achieving the government’s objectives of generating employment opportunities for young Nigerians, augmenting internal security measures while preserving law and order.

On August 10, 2024, new recruits will begin an intensive training program aimed at providing them with essential skills and knowledge necessary for their effective service as officers.
This training will include theories on modern policing ethics, community-oriented strategies in law enforcement, ICT use in the field of duty including artificial intelligence application; human relations management techniques; attitudinal and behavioral change practices.
The commitment of NPF and PSC to enhance Nigeria’s policing norms is emphasized by the agreement as well as the forthcoming training session.
The aim is to equip new constables with adequate skills necessary for serving their respective communities efficiently.
