On Monday, the Korean Central Telegraphic Agency (KCTA) reported that North Korea successfully tested a solid-fuel ballistic missile equipped with a hypersonic warhead.
This launch took place amidst increasing tensions with South Korea, which recently conducted military drills with the US near the North’s border.
The KCTA stated that the test launch had no impact on neighboring countries’ security and was unrelated to the regional situation.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un accused Seoul of being hostile and attempting to overthrow Pyongyang’s leadership, while South Korea’s Defense Ministry condemned the launch and vowed to respond overwhelmingly to any direct provocation from the North.
Additionally, Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo are sharing real-time data on North Korea’s missiles as part of joint efforts to counter its military threats.
