North Central APC cautions N’West colleagues about endorsing Ganduje with vote of confidence
The North Central All Progressive Congress, APC, Forum has issued a stern warning to the North West APC regarding the passing of a vote of confidence on the embattled National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The forum emphasized that numerous votes of no confidence have already been passed on Ganduje starting from his Kano ward, along with various protests, legal actions, and other forms of dissent against him, making it clear that his continuation in office would only lead the APC backwards and cause internal division.
Addressing journalists in Jos, the Plateau State capital, following the recent meeting of the APC North West stakeholders in Kaduna, the Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, expressed that the praise given by the stakeholders to the party leadership is somewhat insensitive given the ongoing crisis within the party.
Zazzaga, who was also a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the previous election, mentioned that Ganduje is surrounded by numerous controversies and the best course of action for him would be to step down to prevent any harm or legal repercussions for the party.
The Chairman highlighted the positive relationship they have had with the North West APC and urged them not to let it sour, especially due to Ganduje’s situation.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the position of National Chairman of the APC is designated for the North Central region as per party arrangements, indicating that someone from Nassarawa State or the region should replace the former National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, who is also from Nassarawa/North Central, rather than Ganduje from the North West.
Zazzaga added that the North Central region has been actively involved in strategic efforts to regain the position and will persist in their endeavors until they achieve their goal.
Therefore, the North Central APC is cautioning the North West APC against supporting Ganduje solely based on his regional affiliation, citing not only the internal turmoil surrounding Ganduje but also the fact that the position he holds is designated for the North Central region.
