Tonto Dikeh, a renowned Nollywood actress, has been summoned by the police, leading to widespread public interest and curiosity.
Tonto Dikeh, a Nollywood icon, has received an order to appear at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in relation to accusations of criminal defamation, cyberbullying and forgery. The encounter is expected to cover other related topics as well.
The invitation was offered by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, who is supervising the investigation.
Dikeh’s involvement in the ongoing investigation has been brought to light as per a letter signed by A.A. Elleman, who is the Head of IGP Monitoring Unit and has identified her as an important individual.

Dated August 5, the letter indicated that criminal defamation, forgery, falsehoods, cyberbullying and criminal conversion are among the charges being investigated.
On August 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM, SP Aminu Abdullahi Sokoto requested Dikeh’s presence for an interview in a letter. The purpose of the meeting was to seek clarification on the allegations made against her.
The invitation has been confirmed by Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed that it was in response to a petition filed against the actress.
According to Adejobi, Dikeh has been liberated while the inquiry remains in progress.
