Pat Ugwu, an actress known for her work in Nollywood, has died at the age of 35.

Her colleague, Emeka Okoye, shared the sorrowful news via an Instagram post on Wednesday. In his message, he included a funeral poster detailing her burial arrangements.

Pat Ugwu, renowned for her significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry, tragically lost her father in 2021. She is set to be laid to rest on February 7, 2025.

Emeka announced her passing with a heartfelt message: “Rest in peace, sis. Pat Ugwu. @patpat_ugwu, does this mean we won’t get to work together again? Why death? God, please help us through this. Rest in peace PAT; may your soul find rest in the Lord’s embrace,” he wrote while expressing his sorrow.

“Dear God, I ask for your protection over all my colleagues, especially those who are dear to me. This unexpected loss is truly unsettling. In the name of Jesus, I declare life and safety upon everyone close to me in 2025. Amen.”

Numerous Nollywood stars, such as Rita Edochie, Destiny Etiko, Nkechi Blessing, and Kevin Mike, also responded to the tragic news.

In the comment section, Destiny Etiko exclaimed, “Jesus noooooo.”

Mike shared on Instagram, “Wow, I just woke up this morning to hear about the passing of one of our crew and cast members @patpat_ugwu. Rest in peace, dear.”
