US officials firmly deny accusations of participating in the assassination of a Hamas leader, stating no involvement.

According to the news network CNA, The Secretary of State has stated that Washington had no knowledge or involvement in the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh.

During his official visit to Singapore on Wednesday, Antony Blinken granted an exclusive interview to the outlet based in the country.

Blinken cautioned against drawing conclusions on the potential impact of Haniyeh’s death on the Gaza conflict and emphasized that it is vital to prioritize negotiations for a ceasefire.

Earlier today, Haniyeh was assassinated at his Tehran home. The Palestinian group has accused Israel of the attack, while there has been no statement from the Jewish nation.

In a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, they expressed that the US government is accountable for what they described as a dreadful act of terrorism. The ministry referred to Washington as an accomplice and supporter of Zionist authorities involved in Palestinian occupation and genocide.

Since its establishment in 1948, Israel has been the foremost beneficiary of economic and military assistance from the United States.

Israel had previously pledged to eliminate the leaders of Hamas, but did not confirm or deny their involvement in the assassination.

On numerous occasions, Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu has vowed to eradicate the organization as retribution for its lethal invasion of Israel on October 7 of last year, which instigated the conflict in Gaza.
