Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy criticizes Nasir El-Rufai, asserting that no politician is free from blame in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Veteran singer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has called out former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai over his recent political statements. El-Rufai’s recent interactions with prominent figures in the opposition party have sparked speculation about his allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu.

El-Rufai had previously claimed that certain individuals were being paid to defend the current administration, a statement that drew widespread attention. However, Charly Boy, in a video shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, fired back, accusing the former governor of engaging in similar political tactics during his time in office.

Charly Boy’s Wake-Up Call

In the video, Charly Boy urged Nigerians to be more discerning, stating, “Wake-up call for Naija! El-Rufai, pack well biko (please). Isn’t this the same agenda you pursued? From politicians to keyboard warriors and cash activists, it’s time to wise up! No government is holy, and no politician is innocent.”

He continued, “We deserve better! Let’s share one love, not manipulation and deceit. It’s time to stop letting others use us for their selfish agendas.”

A Broader Message

Charly Boy’s remarks highlight growing frustration with political leaders and their perceived hypocrisy. His message resonates with many Nigerians who feel disillusioned by the actions of those in power. By calling out El-Rufai, Charly Boy aims to encourage citizens to hold their leaders accountable and demand better governance.
