Chief Olabode George, who used to be the deputy national chairman of the PDP, says that the G-5 governors and their supporters who are protesting unfairness and injustice in the opposition party cannot be stopped.

Sam Ortom, the governor of Benue, visited Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, on Sunday. Sam Ortom is a member of the Integrity Group.

After a private meeting with Ortom, Tambuwal, who was in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, informed reporters that his goal was to speak with his colleagues about the best course of action for the PDP’s current issue.

Also on Sunday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a PDP presidential contender, stated he was waiting to make amends with Wike, whom he claimed to have met five times.

Atiku said, “I met Wike twice in Port Harcourt, twice in Abuja, and once in London.” He said this during a Channels Television Town Hall meeting.

Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Okezie Ikpeazu make up the remaining members of the G-5 (Abia).

The governors have avoided the PDP presidential campaigns, saying that they won’t back Atiku unless Senator Iyiocha Ayu, the party’s national chairman, steps down.

George says that the five angry governors and their allies have sworn to fight for fairness, justice, and equity until the very end.

“Divide and rule doesn’t work,” he declared. Governor Ortom won’t concur. He is a sensible individual.

George, who was speaking on the phone, called Atiku, the presidential contender, an untrustworthy individual and questioned how someone who is unable to reform his party can promise the nation restructuring.

He said he wouldn’t vote for him and that he would keep speaking out until the unfairness of the party was fixed.

“Our rank cannot be shattered,” George remarked. The Sokoto governor is free to travel wherever he wants. We will stand up for justice.

He said, “The Director-General of the campaign is from Sokoto, in the Northwest, justifying the position of G-5.” The country’s chairman is from North Central.Northeastern Adamawa is the candidate’s home state.

“The Southeast is represented by the BoT acting chairman.” a South-based candidate for vice president. For the Southwest, there is nothing. You are deceiving us, too. What rank are they trying to surpass? He is unable to restructure his party. He pledges to restructure Nigeria. He is demeaning the Yoruba. The truth is what we stand by. I won’t cast my vote for him, and I won’t be silent.

George said that some parts of the PDP have been making Yoruba feel like they don’t belong and that their campaign promises are empty.

He bemoaned the fact that Southwest has not served as PDP national chairman since 1998.He said that the first chairman, Chief Solomon Lar, was from North Central. Chief Barnabas Gemade is from Benue in northcentral Africa.Northcentral’s Chief Audu Ogbeh comes from Benue. The doctor is from the North Central region. Baraje is from the central region. Ayu is from Benue, in central Nigeria.

“Southwest has never held the position of chairman. They despise the Southwest and behave dishonorably toward it. We won’t agree to that. The Southwest is isolated from the party’s decision-making structures. That’s sad. We cannot live as serfs.

Given that he is already an elderly member of the party, George claimed that he is not engaged in a personal conflict.

“What do I want again?” he questioned. But the Southwest must receive it. We have capable individuals that can serve as chairmen.

Ortom: I can’t handle this crisis by myself.

Ortom told Tambuwal that he needs the help of his fellow PDP members to solve the problem.

After their discussion at the Benue State House in Makurdi, Tambuwal told reporters, “I spoke with Governor Ortom about the way forward.” As a party, I think we can emerge from the PDP crisis stronger because the issues involved are urgent.

In an effort to ease party friction and portray a united face before the general election next year, the governor of Sokoto indicated he will also meet with other resentful governors.

Right after the PDP convention, Ortom said that the leaders of the party had failed to stop the crisis in its tracks.

The governor claimed that he informed his visitor that peace would return to the PDP if their demands were granted.
