The Katsina State Government made it clear that they have not taken out any loans since the government’s inception on May 29th, countering claims made by the Debt Management Office (DMO) that the state, along with other states, had acquired new loans.

The Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Dikko Radda, Mr. Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, released a statement in Katsina disputing the report and emphasizing that the current administration has been focused on repaying existing loans obtained by previous administrations.
Kaula-Mohammed highlighted that the present All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Katsina has not added any new loans, clarifying that while they have not borrowed recently, they may consider borrowing in the future to enhance the welfare of the state’s residents.
Expressing gratitude towards the media for keeping the public informed about government activities, Kaula-Mohammed urged both the media and the public to continue supporting the current administration in its endeavors to implement impactful projects that will elevate the standard of living for the people of Katsina.
