Prominent stand-up comedian Ali Baba, aka Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, has declared that Nigerian artists have contributed more to national consciousness than any nation’s diplomats.
Nevertheless, he bemoaned the fact that the government’s economic plans did not include the entertainment and creative industries, despite the performers’ enormous contributions to the country.
In a recent interview with Channels Television, Ali Baba said.
He states: “The entertainment and creative industries was not taken into consideration when the Nigerian Economic Summit Group looked at a prognosis of the Nigerian economy for the next five years two years ago.

The creative business was not taken into consideration in the 200-page brochure that was produced. Nigeria’s creative sector is valuable outside of the nation.
He went on, “Burna Boy has contributed significantly more to Nigerian national awareness than any ambassador assigned to the United States, the United Kingdom, or any other country.” Therefore, Nigerian artists are doing a better job than any ambassador of raising national consciousness and introducing us to other nations.
