New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) supporters have persisted in their protests against the Appeal Court’s decision to remove Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf.
However, this time, the party’s female followers demonstrated against what they perceived as an injustice by the appellate court by bringing their agitation to the police headquarters in Kano.
Despite warnings from state police authorities against protests, hundreds of women marched on Sunday from the home of the party’s presidential candidate for 2023, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to the police headquarters while wearing red clothing and carrying placards with various messages.
They are demanding justice and maintaining that the North-West state’s governorship election in March was won by Governor Yusuf. As the protests went on, some of them even became spiritual.
