The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) South West chapter has expressed concerns regarding a potential alteration to the party’s logo, which has been in use for two decades.
The Public Relations Officer of NNPP in the South West, Mr. Kilamuwaye Badmus, emphasized that the existing logo holds significant historical value and should not be changed without proper consultation.
He highlighted that the proposed logo modification was not communicated to party members in the region, leading to widespread disapproval among leaders and supporters.
Kilamuwaye urged Governor Abba Yusuff of Kano state and other NNPP elected officials to uphold the current logo, attributing their electoral success to its symbolism.
He questioned the rationale behind altering the logo, emphasizing the importance of preserving the party’s identity and values.

The NNPP leadership in the Southern Region firmly opposed the logo change, emphasizing that such decisions should involve thorough consultation and consensus among members.
Kilamuwaye underscored that altering the logo would not resolve internal party conflicts but rather create further discord, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reject any unauthorized changes to the original NNPP Party Logo.
He concluded by stating that the proposed logo change does not align with the party’s principles and would not be accepted by the South West region.
