The NNPP has dissolved its executive committees in Taraba, Benue, and Oyo states, signaling major changes in the party’s leadership.
The Executive Committees in Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi and Gombe states have been dissolved by the National Working Committee of NNPP (New Nigeria People’s Party).
According to the National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ladipo Johnson, in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, the party has dissolved its executive structure from state down to ward level across all affected states.
According to Johnson, the action was a component of the decisions made during the emergency NWC meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.

As part of efforts to reposition and revitalize NNPP in the affected states, Johnson stated that the decision was made.
According to him, caretaker committees in accordance with the party’s constitution would take over from the dissolved state excos.
According to him, the choice was made in adherence with articles 14.2.1 (iv, v) and 15.2.1 (xvi) of the party’s constitution which were modified on April 6, 2024.”
Johnson stated that in line with the party’s constitution, dissolved executive committees will be substituted by caretaker committees. These replacements will be disclosed within a few days and continue to serve for the specified duration.
Johnson expressed gratitude to the disbanded state executives for their dedicated service to the party while encouraging them to remain open and willing to serve in other capacities going forward.
Johnson stated that the NWC had thoroughly assessed all other state executives across the nation and determined their legal and ethical readiness to hold local government elections in their respective states.
The NNPP acknowledged that the Kano State executive was aptly equipped to conduct the significant local council election with exceptional leadership and effectiveness supported by law.
