The National leadership of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, has provided insight into the reasoning behind their decision to change the party’s logo.
This decision has faced opposition from the southwest zonal chapter of the party, who deemed it unacceptable.
The NNPP recently held its national convention, during which they ratified the appointment of new national working committee members and unveiled a fresh logo and slogan.
During a live TVC program called “Beyond 100 Days,” the national secretary of the NNPP, Dapo Oluyokun, explained the motivation behind the logo change.
He highlighted that in the previous general elections, the party encountered setbacks due to their existing logo.

Numerous members across the country contacted the national secretariat to express their dissatisfaction with the fact that the party’s logo was not featured on the ballot paper.
Even Oluyokun himself faced difficulty identifying the party’s logo on the ballot paper while voting.
This issue significantly impacted the production of the papers, prompting the party to take action and make it easier for voters and followers to identify the NNPP, regardless of any problems with the ballot papers produced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Another factor that influenced the decision to change the logo was the party’s focus on education, which is a crucial aspect in Nigeria today.
Recognizing the power and opportunities that come with education, the NNPP decided to prioritize it. As a result, their new slogan became “Education for All.”
By learning from the challenges faced in the previous election, particularly the complexity of the previous logo, the NNPP aimed to simplify their visual representation and emphasize their commitment to education.
