Assuming nothing unexpected happens, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will begin his full-scale trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja today on terrorism-related charges.

The federal government has charged Kanu with terrorism, and Solomon Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, a renowned legal luminary, is slated to lead the prosecution’s legal team.

Conversely, Kanu’s legal representation will be lead by Aloy Ejimakor, who will be joined by other distinguished solicitors.

The trial will start at 12 noon, with Justice Binta Fatimat Nyako expected to preside.

In order to fend off potential threats to law and order, a retinue of Department of State Services (DSS) agents had seized control of the security of the court’s property and the highways leading there as of the time of this report.

All solicitors and litigants wishing to enter the courthouse are subject to a thorough frisking process in order to stop the entry of hazardous chemicals.

In order to prevent crowding the courtroom, Obasanjonews.com saw that people who don’t have any important business at the court today are being kindly turned away.

Kanu is anticipated to be taken into the courtroom about midday under strict security guard.
