The best course of action for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to resolve the case has been proposed by Peter Umeadi, a former chief judge of Anambra State.
Kanu’s issue should, in Umeadi’s opinion, be settled politically rather than through the courts.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday in Abuja, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) presidential candidate for 2023 claimed that Kanu’s release would put an end to insecurity in the region.

Umeadi said: “Well, the problem of insecurity in the South East has been raised before, and I agree that it is currently a severe concern.
“If the issue has been resolved, great. If the issue is not resolved, you start to search for additional causes for why it persists.
But for now, everyone agrees—and I agree—that the Nnamdi Kanu situation should be handled politically rather than legally.
Therefore, if he is able to reclaim his freedom, perhaps this current situation in the South East will come to an end.
