Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, claims that the Department of State Service, or DSS, has refused to allow him to see guests of his choosing.
According to Kanu, the DSS’s actions breached a court order that was still in effect and gave him access to his guests.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s attorney, revealed this after their weekly meeting on Monday at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement made by Ejiofor, the DSS Director General, Yusuf Bichi, is the target of contempt proceedings launched by Kanu’s main attorney, Mike Ozekhome, for the denial.
Part of the declaration reads: “Recently, the SSS staff have increased their acts of lawlessness by refusing Onyendu access to visitors of his choosing, in blatant defiance of an ongoing court injunction.
To demand prompt compliance with all court orders that the SSS is currently disobeying with impunity, however, our learned Lead Counsel, Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, has swung into action by launching contempt proceedings against the Director General of the SSS.
