When the State Executive Committee threatened to dismiss former Senate President Ken Nnamani on Wednesday, the crisis roiling the Enugu State APC branch took a turn for the worse.
Following a supposed petition from unidentified members in his local government area, the party leadership is accusing Nnamani and others of alleged anti-party conduct.
Following an urgent meeting, the party’s state secretary, Robert Ngwu, informed the media that Senator Ken Nnamani and the other implicated party members faced expulsion.
The former Senate President, who is regarded as a leader and significant player in both his home chapter in Enugu State and at the national level of the ruling APC, has been silent.

Remember that the APC in Enugu State has been sharply divided ever since Ugo Agballah assumed leadership of the State Executive Committee, pitting him against other prominent party figures like former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, former Governor Sullivan Chime, and Voice of Nigeria Director General Osita Okechukwu.
Things reached a breaking point when certain influential party officials in the state refused to attend Bola Tinubu’s recent campaign event in Enugu in protest of Agballah’s extended tenure in office and demanded his immediate removal.
