The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) mobilizes its members to show support as its president, Joe Ajaero, prepares to appear at the Police Headquarters.
On Thursday, August 29th, 2024, Joe Ajaero – the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is required to appear before authorities regarding an accusation of terrorism. In light of this development, all state chapters and affiliate members have been instructed by NLC to unite in support and encourage their fellow colleagues for solidarity mobilisation.
Our labour correspondent received confirmation of the directive from Emmanuel Ugboaja, who holds the position of General Secretary in NLC.

As per the instruction given by the NLC general secretary, members from all states have been directed to mobilize themselves and peacefully move towards their respective state police headquarters. They are supposed to stay there until such time as the President of NLC is released from questioning by the Police.
Additionally, the NLC members in Abuja will be replicating this action and a few leaders of the labor union will accompany their president to appear at the police investigation office.
Last week, Ajaero was summoned by the police to answer inquiries regarding accusations of financing terrorism, committing treasonable felony and engaging in cybercrime.
The legal adviser of the NLC requested for a new date to attend the invitation.
