Musiliu Akinsanya, alias MC Oluomo, the Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages, has stated that transport operators will not participate in the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, protest.
MC Oluomo stated that transport companies would not participate in the protest since the Lagos State administration has created a favourable atmosphere for them to operate.
He mentioned that the state government has provided some assistance to commercial transportation firms.
“After much deliberation and review, we discussed the high cost of food, transport fares, and other areas of public interest, particularly the plan by the organised Labour unions, namely the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), to call workers out on strike action,” MC Oluomo said.
“After careful consideration, we determined that we will not participate in any strike or protest rally planned to draw the attention of the Federal Government to the issue being debated in the country.”
“The Lagos State Government has created an enabling environment for our operations.” As a result, there is no need for us to join any strike that may endanger the state’s tranquilly.
“As a result, we at Lagos State Parks and Garages unequivocally reject any form of strike or protest by any group or organised labour.”
Today, Wednesday, the NLC announced a nationwide demonstration over the increase in fuel prices at the pump.
The increase in fuel prices followed President Bola Tinubu’s elimination of subsidies.
