Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has turned down an invitation extended by the Nigeria Police Force due to prior engagements.
Falana and Falana Chambers, legal representatives of Ajaero, conveyed his decision to the Inspector General of Police via a letter.

Although Ajaero had received the police invitation just one day prior, in his response he stressed that he already had commitments scheduled before being summoned.
As representatives for the Nigeria Labour Congress and its President, Joe Ajaero, we have been instructed to inform you that Mr. Ajaero regrets that he cannot attend your invitation on Tuesday August 20th due to a prior engagement which had already been arranged before receiving your letter yesterday.
Ajaero was called upon by the police to respond to severe accusations such as criminal planning, aiding terrorism financially, acts of treason and cybercrime.
