The nation’s election procedures, according to the Peoples Redemption Party, or PRP, have been made profitable.
To honour Democracy Day, the party released a statement that was signed by Comrade Muhammad Ishaq, acting national publicity secretary.
“The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) joins Nigerians across the nation to commemorate our 25 years of uninterrupted civilian rule,” the statement read. We can’t help but consider the path we’ve taken thus far and the current status of our democracy as we commemorate this landmark.
Although we applaud Nigerians for their accomplishment, we also have to admit that our democracy has not been as strong as we had intended.
“Despite the return to civilian government, social democracy has not advanced significantly; rather, we have seen a regress of civic rights and a decline in material well-being. It serves as a sobering reminder of how imperfect our democracy still is.

The most recent general elections also serve as a sobering reminder of the difficulties we confront in strengthening our democracy. The basis of our democracy has been undermined by voter disenfranchisement, lack of transparency, and the commercialization of the political process. To resolve these problems and guarantee that the people actually own the authority, we must act immediately.
“We urge professional associations, community organisations, and civil society organisations to take on this task. It’s time for us to unite the public and organise them to demand better treatment from our institutions and leaders. To restore our democracy and make sure it works for all Nigerians, we must cooperate.
According to the PRP, an authentic democracy is one that is inclusive, accountable, and participatory. We implore every Nigerian to work together to advance a transparent, accountable, and well-governed culture. We cannot create a better future for ourselves and future generations unless we band together.
