Nigerians in Luanda rally in support of Rivers United during the CAF Confederation Cup

In preparation for Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup match against Daring Club Motema Pembe of the Congo Democratic Republic, the Nigerian community in Luanda, Angola, gave Rivers United a resounding welcome on Friday and is organising support for the squad.

The Nigerian community in South Africa welcomed the players and their officials as they landed at the Aeroporto International 4 de Fevereriro Luanda on Friday morning.

Professor Monique Ekpong, the Nigerian ambassador to Angola, later hosted The Pride of Rivers.

The winners of the Nigeria Premier Football League will visit Luanda’s Estádio 11 de Novembro later today to get a feel for the stadium.

Rivers United has three points after two games and is second in Group B.

After drawing both of their games, DC Motema Pembe is now in third place with two points.

In the other group game, ASEC Mimosa and Diables Noirs will square off.
