The NLC has warned that Nigerians could face petrol prices as high as N5,000 per litre if current policies under Tinubu’s government persist.
The Nigeria Labour Congress representative, Benson Upah, issued a cautionary statement that petrol prices may skyrocket to N5,000 per litre in the future.
During an interview with Weekend Trust, Upah responded to the recent increase in fuel pump prices.
Additionally, he emphasized that the surge goes against the agreement made by NLC with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Upah stated that the Federal Government’s claim of restoring subsidies was false.
“At no point in time was the subsidy restored as they claimed,” he stated.
“What factors will be considered when deciding to raise the pump price of PMS from N650 to either N1,500 or N2,000?”
“I have something to share with you, and it implies that Nigerians could experience further hardships in the future. It is a possibility that we may be charged more than N5,000 per liter for fuel in this country. We are hopeful of avoiding such an outcome but if it does happen, the decision will ultimately rest on Nigerians.”
