Nigerians are assured by the minister that their international passport will be ready in two weeks

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, has stated that going forward, no Nigerian will need to wait longer than two weeks to obtain an international passport.

In an update to Nigerians on the status of the passport backlog in the nation on Wednesday, he made this disclosure during a press conference in Abuja.

No one will ever have to wait more than two weeks to receive a passport. According to him, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cleared all 204,332 backlogs in passport applications. If you apply and are apprehended, you will have your passport within two weeks.

The minister gave the NIS a two-week deadline on September 7 to process all backlogs in passport applications.

According to Nigerian Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, no Nigerian will now have to wait longer than two weeks to obtain a passport for travel abroad.

On Wednesday, he informed Nigerians of the situation with the country’s passport backlog during a press event in Abuja.
